Sheccanto Derran was the aged Mother of the Yan Shake Monastery at Yannis in Kurald Galain. At two thousand years old, she was tall and gaunt, a figure of wrinkled skin and prominent bones. Her lifebound mate was Father Skelenal of the nearby Yedan Shake Monastery. Sheccanto and Skelenal were kin to each other and to the queen that preceded Mother Dark. If they chose, either could have made a claim on the throne.
