We Survived the Black Prom is a story told by Norma Watson, where she tells, how she survived the Black Prom. It is released in Reader´s Digest a year later. There she tells everything that happened from her perspective, giving insight to her and people´s behaviour towards Carrie and Tommy on the way without giving details of the conspiracy itself, which lead to the humiliation of Carrie.
