The Heinlein was a Federation type 15 shuttlepod that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century, attached to the USS Enterprise-D. It was shuttlepod number 08. Early in 2366, the Heinlein was listed on the shuttlebay operations display as being tested in Hangar 2. (TNG: "Evolution" , okudagram) This shuttlepod was only mentioned in writing. A photograph of a type 7 shuttlecraft labeled Heinlein appeared in a magazine published by Starlog for The Next Generation.
