In 2383, the ship was tasked by Sela, chair of the Tal Shiar, with transporting stolen Dominion technology acquired by the Breen freighter Ren Fejin from the Gamma Quadrant -- without the knowledge or approval of the Romulan government. At that time, the Eletrix was on a joint Federation/Romulan mission of exploration with the Federation flagship USS Enterprise-E. The joint mission had been proposed in good faith by Praetor Gell Kamemor, but was used by the Tal Shiar to plant its agents in the Gamma Quadrant. The crew of the Eletrix later faked her destruction in order to get away from the Enterprise.
