Elisabeth Carson-Braganza was born in Noble City, Lovia, to Princess Maria, daughter of D. Pedro II of Brazil and William Carson, an Irish explorer and adventurer. Carson had come to Brazil in the 1880s, met the King and family and quickly seduced his youngest daughter. With the coup in 1889 that deposed the emperor, William and Maria were quickly (and secretly) married and soon left the country, first to Mexico and then through San Francisco to Lovia.
