Ergometrine is a pharmaceutical that is chemically similar to LSD. It is an essential medication used to prevent bleeding during childbirth, However, it is restricted in many countries (including the United Kingdom) as it can be chemically converted to LSD. It can have several side effects including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, tinnitus, chest pain, palpitations, temporary high blood pressure, arrythmia and rashes. In rare cases, it can cause shock. An overdose results in the same symptoms as ergot poisoning.
