Yuri Ivanovich Gromyko (April 1, 1930 - December 19, 2009) was an Alaskan politician who served as leader of the Conservative Party of Alaska during what are known as "the Wilderness Years" of the 1990s, succeeding Arkady Gromykin in 1994 after the Constitutional Reforms and led the party until he was defeated by the upstart Putin wing of the party at the October 2001 party conference. He was a member of the so-called "Old Dogs" of the party who survived the 1992 and 1998 landslides and stubbornly refused to reform the party platform during the decade-long Molotov government. Serving over seven years, he was the longest-interred Party Leader since Kirill Osopek.
