Super Saturation is the name given to an event that happened during World War I. During World War I, the British had floated mines into the Sphere of Quintessence in order to restrict German supplies. Several mines floating in the Quintessence Sphere detonated, causing the sphere to explode and the quintessence was set free. What is less known is that a secret society known as the Order was aware of the impending explosion and waited for it to happen.
