The Border Baronies are a group of baronies, created long ago to bottle up the passes from the Teeth of the World, north of the Kingdom. They are made to protect the Kingdom from the denizens of the Northlands: the moredhels and goblins. Its barons are not sworn by oath to other lords, but are vassals of the King himself.
