A national sub-governor was an elected position within each of the one hundred and six Sa'ari republics on T'lessia. Their primary role was to assist the national governor in domestic and foreign affairs, as well as to help maintain oversight of the national lawyte. On rare occasions, a sub-governor might be called upon to replace a governor who had left office for any number of reasons.
