Silverman has performed as a pit musician in many Broadway shows, including the 2004 revival of Fiddler on the Roof (where he also understudied the Fiddler), South Pacific, Urban Cowboy, High Fidelity, and Bullets Over Broadway. He served as concert master and music coordinator for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and musical coordinator for Tuck Everlasting (with songs by Nathan Tysen and Chris Miller). On-stage, he played Albert Einstein in the Philip Glass opera piece Einstein on the Beach in 2012, and toured through 2014.
