In quantum mechanics, the wavefunction of a particle is a function of position and time, commonly denoted by , associated with the location of the particle. The modulus-squared of the wavefunction gives the probability density of the particle being in a specific position at a specific time. Integrating the modulus-squared of the wavefunction over a region gives the probability of the particle being in that region at a specific time.
