Doug Beekman is a prolific artist whose work was often used in fantasy novels of the '70s and '80s. One of his paintings was used for the cover of the well known Xanth novel The Source of Magic (1987). For some reason the same painting was used for Drago Di Fuoco, the Italian translation of Firedrake, even though the painting has elements that have nothing to do with the story.
