Michelle Federer was the original Nessarose in the Out-of-Town Tryouts on June 10, 2003, then she opened the Broadway production of the musical Wicked on October 30, 2003. Cristy Candler then replaced Federer as Nessarose on January 10, 2006, making her the longest original principal cast member. Then, she returned to the role of Nessarose, replacing Brynn O'Malley on August 18, 2009. Jenny Fellner replaced Federer as Nessarose on January 14, 2010.
