Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (born July 30, 1947) is an Austrian politician who was the Chancellor of Austria from October 9, 2003 until October 30, 2014 and is the Chairman of the People's Alliance (VA) political party, which has held majority in the Parliament of Austria since 2003. Schwarzenegger has been the head of the VA since 2001, when he defeated then-leader Wolfgang Schüssel at the party conference.
