Ishep was a male in a pre-Hebitian society in the 36th century BCE. He was the illegitimate son of the Night King, and half-brother to Prince Nartal. Following the death of the king, Ishep followed Nartal to the Well of Souls, and was a witness when the prince frightfully abandoned the death ritual for the former king. In doing so, Nartal had not allowed himself to be possessed by Uramtali, a dithparu who had done to all the Night Kings for generations. Although Ishep did not have a perfect genetic profile to allow the dithparu to possess him, Uramtali attempted to do so anyhow. Ironically, once possessed, Ishep did not know how to find his way back out of the royal burial site, and died there. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)
