Albert Kamin (died 1976) was a friend of Captain Donald Cragen. Kamin investigated the "Bedtime Butcher" case. He had a heart attack at his desk and died in 1976, a result of bad genes, his father also dying of a heart attack. Detectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson took over the case when Jane Whitmore was killed. They looked into his files and they caught the Bedtime Butcher, Ned Bogden.
