Robert (Bob) Fannin, born in Dublin in 1954, is a cartoonist, illustrator, journalist, playwright, radio presenter, novelist and short film maker. He worked as a cartoonist for the Evening Herald in the 1980s. As a journalist he has written for The Guardian, The Times and most of the world’s major yachting magazines. His first play, In A Different Light, toured the east coast of the US in 1996, culminating in a three-week off-Broadway run in The Playquest theatre in Manhattan, and was performed as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival in 1997. A short film, Egg, was broadcast by BBC Wales in 1998, and his radio drama Waiting For Concorde was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2003. His first novel, Shooting the Moon, will be published in 2009.
