Lawrence Rothwell was the late husband of Weatherfield resident Maureen Rothwell. Upon their marriage, they had honeymooned at Lake Windermere and after his death part of his ashes had been scattered there. The remainder Maureen took everywhere with her in her large bag and disaster almost struck one night in February 2014 after a night at the bingo when a youth attempted to steal the bag and (some of) Lawrence with it. However he was successfully fought off by Beth Tinker and the happy couple were "reunited".
