After learning the black lightning from the Darui, the Fifth Raikage, Giko sought to develop a technique that combined black lightning with the swordsmanship that is a hallmark of Kumo-nin. What he came up with eventually developed into a fighting style that he is continuing to develop to this day. By developing his chakra control, Giko was able to figure out how to channel black lightning through his sword, increasing its range, flexibility, as well as the effectiveness of its attacks. He also been able to develop several constructs while using his sword as a base.
