Lady Clara Sumner, Countess Calvingdell, was a Manticoran peer of the realm and politician. In the early 16th Century PD, she sat on the Appropriations Committee of the House of Lords. She had a habit of double-booking her appointments. (MA1) In 1535 PD, she replaced James Mantegna, Earl of Dapplelake, as Defense Minister when he resigned in the aftermath of the experimental sloop HMS Phobos's destruction. (MA2)
