Initially the party must visit the Gem Man any time they want to craft a gem. After completing The Gem Man's Invention, the Gem Man gives them a Mobile Furnace, which allows the party to craft gems anywhere. The Gem Man does not offer items for trade and does not appear in the Affinity Chart.
