The title went through a number of name changes and mergers, although always returning to its simpler one-word name. It merged with Knockout in 1963, Smash! in 1971, It was briefly published for one week as ""Valiant" again on 25 September 1971 then Valiant and TV21 on 2 October 1971 and Lion in 1974. On March 19, 2012, the Royal Mail launched a special stamp collection to celebrate Britain's rich comic book history. The collection featured The Beano, The Dandy, Eagle, The Topper, Roy of the Rovers, Bunty, Buster, Valiant, Twinkle and 2000 AD.
