The Immigration Limit Act was a bill passed in Texas to limit immigration from Slave owning immigrants, but was passed disguised as a bill to keep out immigrants from Latin America. The bill was part of an elaborate plan by the President of Texas and America to try to help the Abolition movement in Texas grow stronger that way if the South seceded from the Union, Texas could help the US take out the South. The bill was narrowly passed after several Pro-Slavery Politicians were convinced the bill was aimed at Mexico.
