Microplasm is a Notorious Monster from Final Fantasy XI: Rise of the Zilart. They are encountered in Bastok Mission 9-1: The Salt of the Earth. Upon defeat, the Gigaplasm splits into two Macroplasms, who themselves split into two Microplasms each, who in turn split into two Nanoplasms each. In total the party must fight one Gigaplasm, two Macroplasms, four Microplasms, and eight Nanoplasms.
