When Riou gets captured in Kyaro Town by Rowd and his men, it is possible to engage in an optional boss fight with Rowd. This fight can be won, but Rowd usually one-hit KOs characters. In this instance, Rowd can be seen using a Water Rune. A high level Riou can take him on, though, as simply physically attacking is all that can really be done at this point in the game. The Family Attack can help when Nanami can still fight. If Nanami and/or Mukumuku (if recruited) is still up, they can be used to heal Riou.
