Messieurs les noyés de la Seine was the first Belgian entry performed in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was performed by Fud Leclerc. The song was performed third in the show's running order, after Das alte Karussell and before Le plus beau jour de ma vie. The scoreboard for the 1956 Contest has never been made public, but only the winner was announced, so it is impossible to definitely say where the song placed. However, various rumours suggest the song was placed third and the Netherlands second.
