The Harvest King is an honorary title in Harvest Moon 64. The King is chosen every year at the Harvest Festival on the 12th of Fall. The Harvest King plays an active role the year after winning the title in the Planting Festival and the Spirit Festival. Elli presents the player with a piece of cake at the festival, and if a coin is inside, they become the Harvest King. If the player wants to become the King, they should not save the game the night before the festival and must keep replaying until they win. At the beginning of the game, the first Harvest King is the always Potion Shop Dealer.
