Campaign Against Levels Motorway (CALM) is an alliance of organisations and individuals opposed to the construction of the proposed New M4 motorway in south east Wales. The CALM alliance believes that the New M4 motorway would: - cause irreversible ecological and environmental damage to the Gwent Levels; - cost hundreds of millions of pounds; - increase traffic levels and pollution in south Wales; - contribute to climate change; and, - increase our reliance on motor transport at a time when we should be responding to the twin threats from peak oil and climate change.
