The 1955-01 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Tri-City Speedway on November 7, 1954. Despite the 1954 date, it was the 1955 season opener. Lee Petty started the year off right, leading 194 of 200 laps in route to a half-lap victory over Buck Baker. Eventual season champion Tim Flock did not compete in the race. Stats
