She was born to unwed parents in O'Malleys Radio Hall in Kilkenny, Ireland. In the 1930's Nadine recorded a demo tape which was distributed to Nazi Germany during the second world war. The songs included "Lili Marlene", "Ich bin von kopf bis fuss auf liebe eingestellt", Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture", and "Hanky Panky".
