Sanchi is an S-Rank shinobi, once hailing from the very core of Konohagakure. After his untimely death at the adolescent age of 9 years age, Sanchi's soul was separated from his body, instead of traveling straight towards the afterlife. He traveled the world afterwards, creating many powerful techniques along his several journeys. He then later possessed his own corpse, granting him an artificial life.
