Annie's troubled when she receives a phone call from Christine who Joe told her is staying with her father, but discovers she isn't. Robert arrives at Hawthorn Cottage looking for Christine. Joe finds out that the furniture she ordered is on his account. He covers for Christine's absence, not wanting to admit he doesn't know where she is. Norah suggests Henry change their wholesaler.
