Four years later, the Hammurabi and her sister ship, USS Troy, were escorting a convoy of merchant ships bound for a frontier area when they came under attack by a group of Klingon warships. The Hammurabi was eventually destroyed in the battle, but the five surviving vessels reported that the ship was able to destroy two D7-class vessels and disable two more for being dispatched herself.
