Brotherhood of the Higher Realm Army (BOTHRA) is an Islamic group that seeks to purify Islam through violence. They are led by Pakistani cleric Shaykh Ali Tilani, who established the organization in the early 1980's. Most BOTHRA cells are located in northern Pakistan and North America. BORTHA members have purchased isolated rural compounds in North America to live communally, practice their faith, and insulate themselves from western culture.
