The Remote Attack Pod is a technology seen being utilized by Pirate Aerotroopers in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. It serves as a replacement for the jet pack-mounted weapons systems used by the Aerotroopers that invaded Aether in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Each Aerotrooper is accompanied by two pods, each with a different weapons system. Normal and Armored Aerotroopers have Particle Cannons and a Helix Missile Pod equipped with the Remote Attack, while Advanced and Assault Aerotroopers have a Gel Bomb Rack as opposed to the ordinary missiles used by lower ranking Aerotroopers. The new model of the Aerotrooper jetpack allows for a greater manuverability but is weaker and can be pulled from the trooper using it if Samus ignites it with her Plasma Beam and then rips it away with the Grapple Lass
