The January 5-8 caused only 16 tornadoes but one very deadly tornado and another EF5 some how the same cell produced 2 EF5's. To this very day no cell had produced 2 EF5's and both were very intense. Before this outbreak only 1 EF5 tornado had occurred in the month of January. This outbreak was very similar conditions to a May outbreak. The outbreak was the costliest ever in January.
