Tommy worked as a porter at the Armathwaite Hall Hotel in the Lake District where Alma Halliwell went for a final trip in June 2001 before she succumbed to cancer. As he helped her take her bags from the car, he recognised Alma from previous trips when she and Mike Baldwin had been on short breaks and enquired if "Mr Baldwin" was expected too. She replied no, not knowing that Mike would indeed rush to make the trip to join her there when he found out that his beloved ex-wife was dying. Credited as "Porter", the character's Christian name was given in dialogue.
