The duel will start only if the Duel Gloves hit a target is not sleeping, paralyzed, choking, dimmed, in fear status, nor in the player's home, and is in a state where they can be talked to. The thrown gloves will be consumed upon starting a duel. Note that if the glove misses, no duel will start, the NPC will become hostile, and normal karma and relationship losses will occur. A duel will end only when the target or the player is dead or is forced to leave the map (i.e., quest map times out). If the opponent is a god, remanding them by interacting with them will also end it.
