During the Destruction of Halvo Bay, Barrick was part of Col. Ezra Loomis' unit that guarded a courthouse where Loomis put Kilo Squad on trial. Barrick was killed on the courthouse's great staircase while fighting the Locust who were assaulting the courthouse as Lt. Damon Baird gave his second round of testimony. Barrick's COG Tag was later recovered by Baird when the Locust began to overrun the courthouse.
