Gonadotropin-releasing hormone or GnRH is a hormone involved in the growth of hair and the function of the pituitary gland. It is produced within the hypothalamus. It is found in low levels in children, but is released in much higher levels starting at puberty. In its pharmaceutical preparation, it is used to treat hypogonadism.
