The Blood River flows north from its fount on the northern slopes of Viralithin's Mountain, through the Three Army Pass, before turning west and flowing past Marthix, on its way to the Bay of Dead Kings. Birthalis is at its mouth. It is named after the Battle of Three Armies. So many people were killed that the river is said to have been colored red for over a week afterward. The Blood River's continuing role in the battles between the Xalar Empire and the Great Neck Empire has reinforced its mythical naming.
