Lawrence Summers was the president of Harvard University and a former Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. Gerry Rankin claimed to have met with Summers regarding his supposed work as a United Nations economist. A check of Summers' office by Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames proved that no such meeting took place, as Summers had been in Africa at the time.
