Ruchill is a district in the north of Glasgow. Located between Maryhill and Possilpark, it incorporates the scheme of High Ruchill. Much of Ruchill was built during the inter war period - tenements were the most popular form of housing in the area. As of the late 1990s, the said tenements have slowly been demolished to make way for low rise private homes, which are far more attractive for today's private housing market. Ruchill's notorious social problems are slowly but surely being reduced as the regeneration continues. The one high rise at Smeaton Grove has also been demolished.
