James I the Ambassador (1643, Calais - 1700, Orléans), was the second king of France of the House of Bertrand. He is known for conquer Algeria and the colony of Malouinas. He married Elizabeth Boissieu, who gave him three sons: 1. * Alphonse, prince of Haiti and Malouinas (1678, Calais - ), the king Alphonse I of France. 2. * Jean, duke of Noyon (1680, Paris - ), Archbishop of Avignon. 3. * Leonore, countess of Rennes (1683, Paris -), mother of the prince Jean.
