The Court of Customs and Patent Appeals was a federal appellate court established in 1909 (as the United States Court of Customs Appeals). In 1929 the court's name was changed to the U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals by an enactment that conferred upon it appeals from decisions by the U.S. Patent Office and from the United States Customs Court. It was in Washington, D.C. and was composed of five judges. It was replaced in 1982 by the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
