David Scott Mustaine (born September 13, 1961) in La Mesa, California is the rhythm guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist for the heavy metal band Megadeth. Mustaine grew up in various Southern California suburbs. He currently resides in Fallbrook, California. Mustaine was also a former Metallica lead guitarist and co-songwriter in that band's early history.
