This is an incomplete list of comics based on television programs. Often a television program becomes successful, popular or attains cult status and the franchise produces spin-offs that often include comics. A number of companies specialise in licensed properties, including Gold Key Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Titan Books and Dynamite Entertainment. With the bigger series the license can often pass to a number of companies over the history of the title.
