The old town of Ropar is now known as Rupnagar which is a town and district located in Punjab a state in the north east of India. This district is located to the west of Punjab. Ropar, enjoys great historical importance for various reasons. The district is divided into four sub-division which are: 1. Anandpur Sahib 2. Chamkaur Sahib 3. Rupnagar 4. Nangal This district is the home for many historically important Gurdwaras including:
