The Central Staircase was a massive, black spiral staircase in the Knights Academy in Sanctaphrax which spanned from the Lower Halls to the Upper Halls. Any squire ascending to the Upper Halls climbed the Central Staircase. As part of the ancient traditions, squires climbing the Central Staircase never looked back, only fixing their eyes upon what lay ahead.
